OLD_NEW HEROES, 2022

Currently, the main narrative of the Kremlin machine is that the Soviets played
the greatest role in the victory over Nazi Germany, and it is so powerful that overshadows the memory of Stalinism crimes, repressions, massive executions, deportations, and terror toward Eastern Europe.

May 9 has lost its function as a historical reminder of the suffering of millions of people. Pompous military parades, fake history and the myth of the Great Victory feed contemporary Russian identity, and it is just an instrument of Russian propaganda. Collective Russian identity is based on the mythologized image of the Soviet past.

On February 20, 2014, Russia began its annexation of Crimea and started the war in Donetsk and Lugansk region. On February 24, 2022, Russian forces launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine with the slogan " Denazification of Ukraine". Russian soldiers are wearing Georgian ribbons in a combination with the red stars, the symbol of the "Great Patriotic War". They raised dead perished bodies from the ground to make new "Heroes".  The horror of the past and the present is combined into one sur(realistic) composition.

It’s all just history repeating itself.

Pink Moon

Ceramic masks are the key elements of the "Mystery Legends" collection.
I am travelling through different landscapes to find a place for my creatures.
The pink moon is a moment for cinematic vision and spectacular fantasy.

Siren's Song

I drew my inspiration from Greek mythology, particularly from the mythological portrayals of the Sirens and the Nereids.

"Past life dream" from the series "Legends of the Carpathians"
